Adventus 2011 "Come - The Banquet Is Ready"

Advent is much more than the ‘start of Christmas’.  It’s a time of WAITING on God – so letting our thoughts, worship and prayerful meditation lead us closer to Him.
 
It’s about an EXPECTATION of what is to come, and why God chose to walk the Earth in human form.  It causes us to look back to Creation, and forward to His coming again – the impending ‘arrival’!
This year, our theme is focused on the parable in Luke 14:15-24 that Jesus told, in which He reminds us that we can look forward to a banquet with Him - but we'll need to make sacrifices, and also invite others! So - what are you looking forward to? What sacrifices will you make to be at the banquet? Who will you invite?

Come and worship with body, mind, heart and soul at Adventus. A time to think, reflect and be inspired. A time of expectancy and hope. Here's our Programme of events over the weekend:
 
CREATE - Friday 2nd December
6.30pm Glo Youth Cafe
6.30pm Explorers Meet
7.15pm Explorers Christingle Service (all invited!)
8.00pm 'Create!' - an opportunity to get together with friends to prepare Worship Stations, Art Installations, etc, and put finishing touches to contributions. Gather together and enjoy preparing for a great weekend! Refreshments provided.
 
SHARE - Saturday 3rd December
10.00am - 3.30pm Come and share a journey around various Art Installations, Worship Stations, Photography, Multimedia and more, with Live Art at 11.00am and 1.45pm.
The Coffee Shop in the Foyer at HT will be open and serving: (10.00am) Bacon Rolls (12.00pm) Warm Danish Pastries (2.00pm) Scones and Jam
 
CELEBRATE - Sunday 4th December
8.00am Adventus Communion
9.15am - 12.15pm 'Adventus Celebration' - Seminars, Worskshops and Worship. Includes a 'Bring A Brunch Banquet' from 9.15am to 11.15am. Bring and share pastries, croissants, fruits, yoghurts, small cakes, etc. Bacon rolls and drinks provided.
5.00pm - 7.00pm 'Adventus Reflections' - further time to journey around Worship Stations.
6.00pm 'Winter Warmth' begins in Walton Hall.
