Horse dung and sticky back plastic
Andrew Blyth — Tue, 23/03/2010 - 4:51pm
Just back from the first day of our Easter Experience - the story of the Cross and resurrection told in drama, story, crafts and A/V for local school children. Today we welcomed the first cohort of 600 children due to pass through the building over the next 7 days. And how was it...................well of course, God did it again!
It is true that he used the gifts of our wonderfully talented schools' worker, Carolyn to produce the script/put the whole thing together. That he dressed up Pete the Worship Pastor in a rather racy centurion uniform. He did indeed call for the baring of the mighty legs of Vicar, Youth Worker and Curate (who please Lord will remember to bring shorts to wear under his tunic tomorrow). He gave us a great team of Pilgrim hosts to escort the children around. And yes he even pulled in Carolyn's Dad from 100s of miles away. But most of all he just did what he always does - answered our prayers. He filled the building. He brought the story of new life, to life - as he always has and always will.
The horse dung? In the the end we wouldn't get a live donkey but in God's wonderful economy the children seemed to get just as much pleasure from the real life poo in the donkey keeper's stable! More tomorrow....

It is a different world
Welcome Guest — Sat, 27/03/2010 - 9:18amIn reality, though Cheltenham is less than sixty five miles from Aylesbury, it is a different world.
It is so refreshing and encouraging to work with folk in a church that engages with real people and takes children seriously. As a guest I too found the Easter Experience very special, not least because of the children, some of whom were heard to enourage one another with the words, "Don't worry, Jesus came alive again." Thank you that I could be a part of it.

Miraculous provision
