Part 3. So - it's Cluster night. And Cluster night is Movie Night!!

About half way through Lent, and to further challenge and inspire your continuing thoughts on the book - 'Fasting & Feasting' - and how we share our bread (and all the meanings thereof), you'll want to get together and watch the Oscar-winning movie 'Babette's Feast'.
You could do this as a Cluster (or a Small Group), either round someone's house (anyone got a 50" Plasma, HD, Blu-ray, Surround sound?), or alternatively at HT, where you could watch it on the new big screen in the Coffee Shop (whilst being served a selection of popcorn, of course)!
Now, I confess that the thought of watching this movie didn't fill me with the same excitement as going to see 'Avatar', or 'Star Trek', but if I tell you that, according to many, this movie captures one of the most passionate depictions of sensual pleasure ever portrayed on film, that should be enough to get you interested. And yes, I genuinely loved it. But please, don't be expecting Bruce Willis-style, wall-to-wall car-crash action just cause I recommended it....
Instead, Babette's Feast is a lovely film on a simple level. It's thoughful, pleasing, funny, inspiring. On a deeper leve
l it has loads to say about... well,.. loads, and is bursting with theology. There is a list of questions for your group here to prompt discussion afterwards - but you may feel you can do just as well without them.
I edited this little clip (Babette's Feast Clip) together, as it features not only one of my favourite things (red wine), but also an unintentionally helarious moment I found involving an old man whose head appears to be on fire.... lol...
In part 4, I'll be helping you with some instructions for another Small Group or Cluster evening, and is best kept for towards the end of Lent, closer to Easter.
