I just found out about a campaign to challenge oil companies about their involvement in huge developments of tar sands.  Al Gore called tar sands the "dirtiest possible" fuels, with greenhouse gas emissions far higher than conventional oil. Tar sands are seen by many environmental groups as a major threat to global efforts to tackle climate change.

This spring, major investors in Shell and BP will be asked to vote on tar sands at Shell and BP shareholder meetings.
