Women
Admin — Tue, 06/10/2009 - 8:30pm
We offer a number of special activities for women to complement the wider activity of the church and especially our small home based groups, in providing fellowship, teaching and support. We hope to encourage women in their faith and to move on to spiritual maturity by providing environments where they can express God's love together.
ESTHER SPA Twice a year we have a women's evening in church to celebrate our beauty as daughters of God. There are mini pamper treatments, homemade cakes and hot and cold drinks, craft, space to think and opportunity for prayer as well as much chat and many candles! It's free entry as a reflection of God's free gift of life through Jesus but voluntary donations can be made (10% is given to SPACE at St Mary's Church which helps people with relationship difficulties). We even have a cd of the beautiful music played which can be used for relaxation and worship - at the magnificent price of £3! Available through the Coffee Shop or contact Nicki Blyth.
Esther Spas in 2011 are on Fridays 20th May and 14th October.
BREAKFASTS Several times a year we hold a Saturday breakfast meeting for women who belong to the church and their guests. This is a great time to chat away from the pressures of home, enjoy a good fry-up (or continental option!) and hear from a stimulating speaker. Our next one is yet to be arranged - watch this space!
Women's Bible Study Group "REVIVE" This group meets on Friday mornings (9.45 - 11am) in the Church Lounge in school term time. There is no age restriction which means we have a wonderfully diverse mix of women who are all at different stages of their lives. For those women who do have pre-school children and babies a crèche is provided. Although it meets weekly you can attend as often or ad hoc as suits you. We have been using the Good Book Guides as a basis for our bible study. In the first term we studied a series looking at the Psalms which included writing our own Psalms. We are now following a series called Meeting Jesus which looks at women of faith from the New Testament and have just finished one study on the Samaritan woman at the well (John Chapter 4) "Faith that receives eternal life". The next study looks at the woman who poured perfume and wept her tears onto Jesus' feet (Luke Chapter 7) "Faith that loves greatly". Each study takes more than one week so we get the chance to look at the passages in lots of detail and apply it to our lives.
CONFERENCES & SPECIAL EVENTS
HT is involved in various networks including New Wine, Spring Harvest and Care for the Family and we encourage women to take advantage of the special meetings and resources they offer. We have had two local Awaydays in the last 18 months at the lovely setting of WEC International in Gerrards Cross. We aim to have another one early Summer 2012.

Women's World Day of Prayer
nickiblyth — Thu, 13/01/2011 - 9:15pmFriday 4th March is Women's World Day of Prayer
A time to unite in praise, worship and prayer. The day begins as dawn breaks over the islands of Tonga in the Pacific and continues across each continent until the last services are held back in the Pacific on the islands of Samoa, circling the world in prayer for about 36 hours. It is organised by women but intended for men and women to take part. Each year there is the opportunity to learn about a particular country - this year it was Chile and the title was "How Many Loaves Do You Have?" Bread is eaten at every meal in Chile and is shared as a sign of solidarity and hope in Christ.
There were two services in Aylesbury and HT is hosted the afternoon one 2-3pm. Over 70 people came along to the afternoon and joined in this amazing act of worldwide prayer and praise.
Next year's focus is on Malaysia.
