Our group is a mixture of people some single, some married, some from families with children (from toddlers to adults). We’re working out how to live and be real as Christians in our everyday lives, with all the muddle and mess that involves. We recognise that people have different journeys with God and are in different places with that and celebrate and cherish that. We make space for the doubts and questions and do not have all the answers. We want to be a safe place for questions and to be inclusive.
We look out and concern ourselves with wider issues outside ourselves and our church – the environment, homelessness, loneliness, mental health, our community.
Many of us have had times where we struggled to square the realities of life with our faith. Some of us are living with our own or family members’ emotional and mental health issues.
By listening to each other, sharing experiences, working through Bible study notes and praying together we hope to grow closer to one another and closer to God as we walk with Jesus day by day, all the while looking out to those around us realising that God loves all that He has created.
We also have a lot of fun and laughs and somehow manage to veer off topic quite randomly – ridge & furrow field systems anyone? When we’re able to be together we mix our ‘study’ weeks with social weeks – often involving board games and even the pub!
